Position Summary
We are looking for an experienced and proactive Senior Manager, Sales and Business Development, to join our Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) team at Fluence India. This role will focus on fostering relationships, leading BESS procurements, building strategic partnerships, and expanding our presence in India’s energy storage sector. Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, the ideal candidate will bring agility, commercial acumen, and a strong drive to succeed in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Market Development & Strategy: Identify and capitalize on new market opportunities for energy storage. Create customer-specific business cases and quantify Fluence India's unique value for diverse segments.
- Market Insights & Feedback: Provide insights on market trends, technology, pricing, product development, and financial products, supporting our strategic positioning.
- Collaborative Efforts: Work closely with global teams, including Sales, Product, Services, Project Delivery, and Customer Success, to meet Fluence India’s sales and service goals.
- Customer Education & Enablement: Educate clients on the benefits of energy storage and guide them through the sales pipeline.
- Strategic Partnerships: Develop and sustain relationships with utilities, regulators, government officials, and industry stakeholders to support market growth.
- Proposal Preparation & Contract Management: Draft compelling proposals and negotiate key terms. Lead contract negotiations for supply, commissioning, and operational services.
- Event Representation: Represent Fluence India at industry events, networking to raise our profile and forge valuable partnerships.
- Sales Performance Tracking & Reporting: Monitor metrics to assess and enhance sales performance, providing regular insights to management.
- Policy & Regulation Awareness: Stay updated on industry policies and incentives, integrating this knowledge into business strategies.
Qualifications
- Experience: 10+ years in renewable energy and/or battery storage sectors, with 10-15 years of overall experience.
- Education: Bachelor’s in Engineering or related field; an MBA is advantageous.
- Skills: Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills. Commercial acumen with a track record in business development and sales conversions.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with BESS technology, tenders, and renewable power integration.
- Competencies: Self-motivated, adaptable, collaborative, and comfortable in a start-up environment. Able to manage multiple tasks with an entrepreneurial spirit.
- Travel: Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
- Communication: Proficient in English with strong interpersonal skills.
